We Are Labeless Brand Story
About the brand
We Are Labeless, is a conscious fashion hub in Delhi, India working on giving back to the society by working closely with design clusters as well uplifting traditional crafts & textiles. Founded in early 2019, this is the brainchild of Mehak Tariq Beigh & Pallavi Yadav which aims to provides daily wear luxury garments with a story.
As the word itself suggests, the idea behind ‘We Are Labeless’ was not to glorify an individual but to give equal credits to each individual present in the value chain. As the designers like to call it a creative osmosis, where each individual learns from the other and create products. The goal is not to just design clothes, but to build a creative space where like-minded people came on-board to make a difference.

Meeras
Meeras is the brand’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection which is a journey of age old traditions & techniques by bringing together weavers & design clusters from across India.
Sourcing
The brand works closely with the weaver’s society for handloom fabrics. For the first collection, ‘Meeras’ initially they were looking for an ethically made hand woven fabric, directly from the weavers with no middlemen involved in the value chain while keeping in mind that due credits are given to the handloom weavers.
After they were able to find a group of weavers, only to find out that while transporting their fabrics in the past, they had encountered multiple problems with discolouration of the fabric, mishandling of the fabric or small batches of leftover fabrics, which resulted in losses and deadstock for these weavers and this became a starting part of their raw material sourcing.

Designing
While designing, the inspiration comes from the daily scenarios of their lives. From the simplest of things like, traditions and values along with their processes inclined towards handloom and handcrafted techniques.
For Meeras, after acquiring the pre-existing fabrics from the weavers of Bihar, they were taken to Kashmir for ‘Sozni’ embroidery done by a household of seven sisters trained by WDCI (Women's Development Corporations of India)
The brand has maintained a scrap collection box for all the waste that is generated while production as no scrap goes out of their studio and is utilized to make accessories like earrings, key-chains, ties, belts and patched brallets out of them. Scraps that are too small to be used go into stuffing the earings. Therefore, nothing is really wasted.
They truly believe in the saying, “waste is not waste until you waste it.”
Mission
WeAreLabeless’ works on the Sustainable Development Goals 2030. Primarily with SDG 5, Gender Equality & SDG 12, Responsible Consumption & Production. Their mission is to rehabilitate women from distressed areas and give them a safe environment to enhance their skills, in their conscious hub which is not limited to any one specific place.
