5 Easy Paper DIYs to Try at Home for Christmas

It is that magical time of the year when everything smells like cinnamon and plum cakes. If you are craving cosy craft time with family or enjoying a quiet moment with hot chocolate, here are 5 sustainable Christmas paper DIYs which use very little material that you can make right at home. All you need is some paper, glue, scissors and string for these no stress, no waste creative crafts that look adorable. As you begin, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a low waste New Year.
1. Paper Stars
Materials: Thick A4 or craft paper, glue, scissors, string
Cut two square papers. Fold each one in half (side to side, top to bottom, and both diagonals) to get clean creases. Then make small cuts halfway along the straight folds, not the diagonal ones. Fold and glue each cut flap slightly over itself to form pointed arms, making a star shape. Do this for both papers, then glue the two stars back-to-back with a string in between to hang.

2. Paper Bag Snowflakes
Materials: brown paper bags, glue stick, scissors, string
Stack your paper bags one over the other, glue each layer, and then cut patterns into the sides as if you're making a giant snowflake. Fan them open and voila, instant snowflakes. You can punch a hole and tie a thread for hanging or use tape to stick them to walls.

3. Minimalist Paper Trees
Materials: Green paper (or any old newspaper), scissors, glue or tape
Fold a sheet of paper back and forth like a fan from one end to the other. Cut the folded paper into a triangle shape so the top is narrow and the bottom is wide. Open the folds a little and glue the two ends together to make a half circle tree. And in the end do not forget to add a tiny paper star on top.

4. Accordion Paper Angels
Materials: White or pastel paper, gold string, glue, scissors
Fold paper like a fan (accordion style) for both wings and the body. Glue them together, add a circular paper face or even a small wooden bead for the head. Tie a loop of string on top for hanging. They look beautiful on your tree or as gift toppers.

5. Old Book Page Baubles
Materials: Pages from an old book or newspaper, glue, scissors, string
Cut out several identical circles or oval shapes. Fold each in half and glue them side by side until they form a globe. Add a string before sealing the last piece. You’ll end up with a vintage-style bauble.
